Arriving on Iona, a photo by ECGilmartin on Flickr.
Since then I've done quite a lot. The day after my return from the Inner Hebrides I went straight for an introduction to fungi with Nev Kilkenny. He is a field mycologist who did an apprenticeship much like mine some years ago. He was previously a joiner who went for a career change, and he was super helpful / very blunt about the career I'll be moving into. It was good that we didn't find all that much fungi in Dalkeith woods, because I was just exhausted from the journey the day before.
Midsummer came, went, and I then stood at the Plantlife stall at the RBGE Bioblitz.
I also met with the bryologists at the RBGE.
Have fancy new boots too.
Behold.
